Seven locks, one table. Every one opens with a fingerprint and a mechanical key. Most add a keypad and an app. Four also work as a doorbell and photograph whoever rings. What follows is the difference between them, and how to pick in about a minute.

Pick by the question you are actually asking
“I want to see who is at the door.”
Four locks ring and send an image: SP-US23, SP-US23 Ultra, Zebulun and SEER, plus the SmartBell SP-501. The SP-US23 sends a snapshot to the app when the bell is pressed. The Zebulun adds a screen on the inside panel so you can look without picking up a phone. The SEER and the SmartBell are the full doorbell treatment on a deadbolt.
“I just want to stop carrying keys.”
The Alpha-B at $230.99 is the cheapest lock here with a fingerprint sensor, a keypad and an app, and no doorbell to pay for. It is the one to buy for a back door, a garage door or a house where the front already has a bell.
“It is an interior door, or an office.”
The Simplicity at $105.99 is a lever handle with a fingerprint sensor in the collar. No app, no Wi-Fi, no codes. Press a finger and the handle turns. For a home office, a stock room or a studio, that is the whole requirement.
“It is a rental.”
Read the rental guide. The short version: pick a lock with ten codes, give each guest one and delete it at checkout, and keep the fingerprints for the cleaner.
What every one of them shares
- 200 fingerprints. Enough for a household, a cleaning team and a decade of guests. Enrol two fingers per person.
- A mechanical key. Two ship in the box. Keep them off the property and out of the mat.
- About six months on four AAA batteries. Roughly 182 days of normal use, with a low-battery warning in the app and an external terminal that wakes the lock from a power bank if you ignore it.
- A door you already have. No wiring. The lock reuses the existing holes on a wooden, steel, stainless, aluminium, composite or PVC door.
- CE, FCC and RoHS certification, and a one-year warranty.
Two measurements before you order
Measure the thickness of the door at its edge: 35 to 65 mm fits. Then measure the backset, from the door edge to the centre of the handle hole: 60 mm or 70 mm, and the mortise in the box adjusts between the two. The installation guide walks through both with the fitting steps.
Paying over time
Every lock on this page can be paid in instalments at checkout through Affirm or Klarna, subject to eligibility. The Alpha-B works out around $21 a month, the SP-US23 around $33. The plan and rate are shown before you commit, on the checkout page, by the lender.
Questions people ask before choosing
Does a fingerprint lock work with wet fingers? Not reliably. The sensor reads the ridge pattern on a fingertip and water flattens it. Dry the hand, or use the keypad code, which is why every lock except the Simplicity has one.
What happens in a power cut? Nothing. These locks run on their own batteries and have no mains connection.
What if the batteries die while I am out? Touch a USB power bank to the terminal under the outside panel. The keypad wakes and the lock opens on your code or print. Then change the batteries.
Can I add someone remotely? Codes yes, over Wi-Fi from the app. Fingerprints need the person and the lock in the same place.
Do they work with Alexa or Google Home? These locks are controlled through their own app rather than a voice assistant. If assistant control decides your purchase, say so when you call and we will tell you straight whether we have it.
All seven are in the lock section, in stock, and ship from Maryland in one to two business days. Call 888-400-0607 if you would rather talk a door through first.
