How to Unlock Your Nikon D7000 Firmware to Clean HDMI

If you have a Nikon D7000 with firmware version 1.0.1, 1.0.2, 1.0.3, 1.0.4, or 1.0.5, you can downgrade the firmware to 1.0.3. This will allow you to get a clean HDMI output with your camera.

Instructions:

  1. Download the patched_D7000_0103.bin file from your purchase order
  2. Rename the file to D7000_0103.bin.
  3. Copy the file to the root directory of your SD card.
  4. Insert the SD card into your camera.
  5. Turn on the camera.
  6. The camera will automatically start the firmware update process.
  7. Once the update is complete, the camera will restart.

Important:

  • Make sure that your camera is turned off before you insert the SD card.
  • Do not remove the SD card while the firmware update is in progress.
  • If the firmware update fails, you may need to restore your camera to factory settings.

I own a Nikon D7000 with firmware version 101 then upgraded to 105 and wanted to use for livestream and after doing research and online browsing I was able to find some patches from different sources that were supposed to be 103 versions for Clean HDMI output and they didn’t worked. I came across other site that was charging almost $40 to download and then I came across this site and for only $14 decided to try and it worked as advertise and its original file. I would not hesitate to buy if you’re looking to use your old DSLR Camera as a webcam or streaming services . thank you SatellaPower for keeping this file still out there for users to use in old devices in todays platforms.

I’ve been searching high and low… Reddit, Youtube, and all of the sources, either had broken links or the files themselves did not fix this issue.

This worked first try. All I needed for my D7000 was the patched .bin file, renamed it as instructed, loaded it on the card and let the firmware process run.

Plugged the camera into my HDMI converter and into my OBS, set up a new scene with the USB Camera as the input. No more Red Square or any display interruptions. Thank you!
